Saudi Pavilion Has no Countdown for People with Special Needs

Expo 2010 has already started the countdown, and within a week, all pavilions will close theirs doors for the last time. However, approaching the end of this event doesn’t mean for the Saudi pavilion to change the numbers of its activities. On Sunday 24th and in coordination with a non-governemental/non-profit organization called SOHO-KU, the Saudi Arabia pavilion, as part of its CSR (corporate social responsibility) program, hosted a group of 44 adults with special needs along with their volunteers.

A group of leaders of major corporations in the East Asia region visited the Pavilion of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the Shanghai Expo 2010. The visitors are members of the Hong Kong-based Asia Business Council and come from various countries such as China, Korea, Japan, Malaysia, and others.

In the framework of the Saudi contemporary art exhibition “Nabatt: A Sense of Being”, presented by the Saudi Pavilion at the Shanghai Expo 2010 and held at the Duolun Museum of Modern Art, an artistic collaboration event took place in the Pavilion. The brushes of Saudi and Chinese artists shared the same canvas on the Pavilion’s stage, creating a painting that bears aesthetic elements from both civilizations and represents the strong bonds of friendship over the past twenty years.

table_tennisThe Saudi Pavilion at Shanghai Expo 2010 received a visit by the famous table tennis player, Mr. Wang Liqin. The former world champion’s visit comes as part of the continued collaboration between the Saudi Pavilion and the “Expo Stars” organization, which organizes events attended by famous personalities to aid under-privileged children. The Pavilion’s Director, Mr. Adbulhamid Hasan, and the pavilion’s senior staff welcomed Mr. Wang, and then he was accompanied on a tour to see the pavilion he heard so much about.

NBA_playerThe Spanish professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA (National Basketball Association) surprised his fans today by showing up at the Saudi Pavilion. Paul Gasol was received by the Pavilion Director Mr. Abdulhamid Hasan and the senior staff, who accompagnied him on a tour of the “Moon Boat”.

Ten under-privileged junior high school students from the remote region of Zhenkang County in Yunnan Province visited the Saudi Pavilion. They were welcomed by the Pavilion Director Mr. Abdulhamid Hasan and the Pavilion’s senior staff.

Media_and_Schoold_Children_1A total of 40 Chinese school kids visited the Saudi Arabia Pavilion at the Shanghai Expo 2010 today, accompanied by their teachers and a group of journalists from various Chinese media led by Xinhua News Agency. They were received by Pavilion director, Mr. Abdulhamid Hasan and other senior staff. They were also presented with souvenirs from the Pavilion that included books, CDs and other information materials.

Saudi Pavilion Praised for Success at the Largest World Expo in History

Chinese President Hu Jintao visited the Saudi pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo 2010 on Thursday.

September 23rd marks the unification of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by its founder King Abdulaziz Al Saud and the beginning of the journey of development and growth of the land of the Two Holy Mosques, Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Al-Madinah AL-Munawwarah.

Saudi Arabia is displaying the Tent City of Mina in the Urban Best Practices Area for the first time as an innovative and life-improving urban experiment.
